On the first advent in the year 2000 the 22 metre high norwegian pine tree was illuminated at the Sony Center square.

The 80 year old and 5,4 tons heavy tree was before secretly decorated hidden under a veil.

20,000 small reflecting metal sheets were computerized floodlighted by various colours under the design of the french light-artist Yann Kersalé.
